"Whites Only"
Reading these different articles made me think about how the actions of others impacted the community. In some communities such as Columbia, South Carolina, citizens might feel threatened and take huge offence to the large confederate flag that was raised above the State House in Columbia. In Ohio, a Land Lord claimed that the hair products of a black girl was the reason for cloudy water in the swimming pool of the apartment complex. Upon deciding that the black girls hair products was the cause of that, he/she proceeded on by posting a "whites Only" sign in the pool. I can not imagine what kid of problems this could bring up in the apartment complex. This could cause blacks and people against racial discrimination to not rent apartments in that specific complex, and from now on, that Land Lord could be frowned upon, and many people might look at him negatively. Over all, whites might look down to those who are racist. In the first article we read of a police officer who shot a woman twice when one shot would have been perfectly fine. Whites might look down on that officer and want him to lose his job, and same for blacks. But on the other hand, when looking at that flag that was raised, some whites might feel empowered while blacks might feel threatened.
