Wounded Knee: Part 3

Teresa Howard Dean was a reporter who covered the story of The Battle of Wounded Knee. She missed the actual battle, but witnessed the pain and misery following the aftermath. She wrote "The killing of Indian children at Wounded Knee was most pitiful, "[But] the killing of the squaws was as just as it was unavoidable." Although she didn't see the war, she still felt the pain, and she could see how badly the Indian's suffered. Many other repoters attempted to stage scenes to impress their editors, and Dean tried, but many repoters at the time were males and did not like the fact of a female reporter.
